Challenge
NEWAYS SLOVAKIA, a.s. is an experienced provider of electrotechnical services on the international market and a member of the Neways Group, one of the top 5 leaders on the European EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) market. The company’s products are used across various industries — in the semiconductor, medical, and automotive industries, as well as other industrial installations.
Before implementing Humanet, the company managed attendance and payroll separately. It was looking for a partner who could cover payroll, attendance, and related HR processes in a single system, while also simplifying the paper-based approval of employee requests.
The paper-based process was particularly demanding for vacation requests, doctor visits, and compensatory time off. The employee had to hand in the request to their supervisor, who approved it and recorded it in attendance, after which the information made its way back to HR, where the paper request forms were archived. The company also needed employees to be able to see their balances, payslips, and attendance without having to handle everything in person with their supervisor or on paper.
The main challenges included:
- unifying payroll, attendance, and personnel data under a single solution,
- replacing paper-based approvals with an electronic process,
- ensuring employees had easy access to balances, payslips, and requests,
- improving supervisors’ overview of who is at work and which absences are approved,
- transferring attendance data to payroll more clearly and without unnecessary duplication,
- preparing the system to handle a growing number of employees and the involvement of team leaders and managers.

Solution
The Humanet rollout took place gradually. First, the payroll system was implemented, followed by the attendance system, in order to create a unified process from recording absences through to payroll processing. A key part of the implementation was setting up the attendance calendars, which, including testing, took approximately 1.5 months.
A major change was the introduction of the mobile app. Employees now use it to electronically submit requests for vacation, doctor visits, or compensatory time off, view their balances and attendance, and access their payslips. When a new employee joins, HR trains them not only on the attendance system but also on using the mobile app.
According to the data, the app is now used by 100% of employees. Communication with Humanet consultants was also an important part of the successful rollout, which the company rates as very good.
The solution included:
- implementation of the payroll system followed by the rollout of attendance,
- setting up and testing the attendance calendars,
- electronic approval of vacation, doctor visits, and compensatory time off,
- giving employees access to vacation/doctor day balances and payslips in the mobile app,
- giving supervisors an overview of team members’ attendance and absences,
- involving team leaders and managers in working with the system,
- using the Humanet Terminal and mobile app for attendance processing.

Impact
Humanet brought NEWAYS SLOVAKIA digitized, clearer, and more accessible HR processes. Paper requests were replaced by an electronic process, and attendance data is now ready for payroll processing within a single system. Employees and supervisors now work with information directly in the app or in Humanet, reducing administration and increasing clarity.
Key results:
- Employees electronically request vacation, doctor visits, or compensatory time off and no longer need to use paper forms.
- In the mobile app, they can see their balances, payslips, and selected attendance information.
- Supervisors have a better overview of whether colleagues are at work, and request approvals run more smoothly.
- Transferring attendance data to payroll helps reduce manual administration when processing personnel matters.
- The company meets the processing deadline on the 1st business day despite having hundreds more employees than in the past.
- Team leaders and managers also have access to Humanet, which distributes responsibility for attendance processes closer to the teams.
- According to the data, the mobile app is used by 100% of employees, supporting a unified digital way of working.
A further possible step is connecting Humanet with the multinational system via an API interface. This option is also an advantage for the company, since Humanet can serve as a stable foundation for future digital connections and the expansion of HR processes going forward.
